Tax Planning

If you only have W-2’s, that’s pretty simple! However, if you have children under 17, you may qualify for the Child Tax Credit. And Earned Income Credit is available, too, with or without children, depending on age and income.

Tax Services

If you received 1099(s), such as 1099-Int, 1099-Misc, 1009-R (Retirement), 1099-G (Government), and a new form this year, 1099-NEC (Non-Employee Compensation), we know what to do with these. Aren’t you glad?

Tax Preparation

And of great importance and often overlooked by tax clients is the 1098-T for educational credits. These are issued by education institutions and can be of great benefit to parents of college students!

And state / local / school district returns! You think that’s complex? Well, yes it is!! Whether you have lived in just one state or multiple states, we are well qualified to prepare those tax returns. Each state is unique and we stay ‘up with the times’ making sure these taxes are prepared accurately. And local tax/school district returns? There is the challenge!! For instance, PA has school districts and burgs (towns), each one with a different tax rate. In the days before local tax forms were computed on-line, it was a hair-raising experience! We now keep our hair in place for the most part. Many of them are online now, but not all. Other states such as Indiana have a tax rate for each county.

If you are self-employed, we will prepare your Schedule C , reporting income and expenses. One of our Profit and Loss forms lists the various expenses and helps in you tax preparation.

No worries if you bought or sold stock or other reportable assets. We will make sure they are reported accurately. There is no need for you to understand it all. We keep it simple for you!!

If you have rental property, a Schedule E will be added to your tax return. Again, a rental income worksheet will guide you through the process. And we encourage you to contact us with any questions!!
